Biography & Metadata
BUJA is a Brazilian producer and DJ redefining what "self-made" means in tech house. Born in Minas Gerais, he entered the conservatory at ten: classical piano, guitar, drums. That formal training became a studio obsession that now runs up to twelve hours a day. Self-produced, self-built. At 19, the records speak for themselves. Invited personally by Grammy-nominated MEDUZA, he released "Touch My Body" on their own AETERNA Records, an attitude-loaded statement on a label built by world-renowned artists. His "Cult Of Bass" EP alongside Lee Foss feat. Franksy on Repopulate Mars made him the youngest Brazilian ever to sign with the label's founder. Add his Dirtybird debut "Hysteria", part of the Brazilian wave the press credits with reshaping the label's sound, plus "Arriba y Abajo" on New York's storied Nervous Records and collaborations with JØRD and Breaking Beattz, all before his twentieth birthday. That output has earned the support of heavyweights across the scene, from Tiësto, MEDUZA, Diplo, Oliver Heldens, CamelPhat, Seth Troxler, Cloonee, Gordo, Solardo, Adam Ten, ACRAZE, Blasterjaxx and CID, carrying BUJA's sound from a studio in Minas Gerais to dancefloors around the world, and to crowds of up to 20,000 at home. Behind the music is João Vitor; behind the sound, solid low-end architecture, hypnotic basslines and grooves engineered to move a room. What comes next is signed BUJA.
