Sam Girling

Bedford-born producer and DJ Sam Girling feels less like an artist chasing moments and more like one settling into his own lane. After gaining attention through self-released material in the early 2020s, Girling’s sound continued to evolve. Across 2025, it edged darker and more UK, leaning into late-night atmospheres while holding onto the euphoric instincts that have always underpinned his work. DJs such as Ben UFO, Call Super and Surusinghe quickly picked up on his unreleased arsenal. One standout was Rap TT, self-released on Girling’s Attacca imprint in 2025. After playing it repeatedly through the summer, Ben UFO posted a clip from Draaimolen calling it “one of the tracks I’ve played the most this summer, so good!” Not long after, Girling followed up with Mick’s Helicopter on Warehouse Project Records, forming the backdrop to Surusinghe’s comment: “I feel like he’s like one summer away from being on every lineup.” Away from the studio, Girling runs Club Attacca, a DIY party series that began in Bedford and has since travelled further afield. Built on good sound and open-minded crowds, it mirrors his approach to DJing where house, garage and leftfield club music are stitched together. Looking ahead, Girling relaunches Attacca as a label rooted in raw, white-label values: direct, club-first releases with no excess framing. The Bedfordian's project is starting to blossom, increasingly at home in the darker corners of the dancefloor.
