Biography & Metadata

Americana, rock, folk, singer-songwriter, Andy Sydow is an accomplished multi-instrumentalist who's lyrics paint a picture of poetic realism. Touring consistently both solo and with a backing band, Sydow is known to sway an audience with acoustic guitar ballads, sing a few numbers on his lap steel, and even sit down at the keys to show off his surprising boogie-woogie piano chops. He draws comparisons to voices like Paul Simon and Jackson Browne, mixed with a roots rock vibe reminiscent of Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers or Nathaniel Rateliff & The Night Sweats. Andy has had the chance to open for acts such as Chuck Prophet, Lucero, Brett Dennen, and Shane Smith & the Saints. He is also a 2X Kerrville New Folk Finalist. This fall, Sydow will release Night Skin, a full length album produced by Anders Osborne at Dockside Studio in Maurice, LA. When he's not touring, writing, recording, or producing other artists, Sydow spends time talking to other creatives and music industry professionals on his podcast, Middle Class Rock Star. The program has played host to the likes of: Mickey Raphael (harmonica, Willie Nelson), Andy Frasco, Dango Rose (Elephant Revival), Jeremy Lawton (Big Head Todd & The Monsters), Leftover Salmon, Phil Cook, and Shane Smith.
