Biography & Metadata
Almost 50 years ago Tim "Vulch" Chapple was the bassist in the legendary Penzance Punk Band The Vendettas - sharing stages with The Sex Pistols and The Ramones. From Red Lambretta to Motion and Distance - measuring the distance from 1977 to now and putting it to music. Back then it was speed and instinct - now there's time to let the basslines breathe or let them get nasty when they need to. It's a music born out of a love of Bass Guitars, Punk, Soul, Reggae, Rock, Blues and Jazz - Bass guitar driven instrumentals and musical collaborations with some wonderful musicians here in Cornwall UK. A lot of the instrumentals grow from lyrics or thoughts, and reflecting on memories and emotions. Tim Chapple is a completely self taught bassist with an individual technique and sound - he first started making music after watching The Ramones and The Sex Pistols, but grew up on a diet of glam rock, reggae, soul and underground rock and cites the Pink Fairies as his favourite band. The Groove is always so important now, and to play with passion, while always playing for the song. Tim is playing across Cornwall in a number of bands, and loves the interaction at a gig with great players and a happy audience. He has been very fortunate to work with many great musicians over the years and has also worked in Europe and across the UK, and performed on radio and TV. timothycharleschapple@gmail.com Rread the book "PZ77" by Simon Parker
