Margy Stewart

While living in Seattle in the mid-eighties I became involved with rhythm and drumming, took classes in Afro-Cuban percussion and joined a percussion ensemble. We performed throughout Seattle for a couple of years before my relocating to the Bay area in the mid-nineties. I initially did some local performing with a Samba Bacteria. I joined a Sebastopol based Play Back Theatre and led led sound healing events. As I became more interested in musical arranging singing and song writing I studied music theory, piano /keyboard as a way to accompany myself while singing. I wrote music and eventually recorded songs with vocals, native flute and piano/keyboard.
