Mo'Kalamity

Mo'Kalamity is a Paris-based reggae roots and conscious reggae artist of Cape Verdean descent. A self-taught singer-songwriter and bandleader, she has spent over 15 years crafting powerful, spiritually driven music that bridges the traditions of jamaican reggae, african influences and soul music. Her catalog spans five studio albums on her own label Sofia-Théa Records. Her debut Warrior of Lights was re-released within its first year due to popular demand, and Deeper Revolution received three nominations at the Cabo Verde Awards in 2011. With her band, The Wizards, she has performed on some of France's most iconic stages including la Maroquinerie, Le Cabaret Sauvage and Reggae Sunska, No Logo, and has toured across Europe and North Africa, sharing the stage with Tiken Jah Fakoly at the legendary Elysée Montmartre. She has recorded and collaborated with some of the most iconic names in reggae history including Sly & Robbie, Earl "Chinna" Smith, Flabba Holt, Sidney Mills of Steel Pulse and Tiken Jah Fakoly. Her album Shine was recorded across Brooklyn, Kingston and Paris, and mixed by Dennis Thompson, engineer for Bob Marley & The Wailers, Buju Banton, and Alicia Keys. With a voice that commands attention and lyrics that resonate across cultures, Mo'Kalamity makes music for those who listen with intention.
