Blue Pappi

Bongumenzi Gumede, known professionally as Blue Pappi, is a 23 year old musician from Ladysmith, South Africa. His musical journey began at ML Saltun where he discovered his passion for music and developed his vocal skills. This journey continued to refine through high school & school choir classes. In 2019, Blue Pappi released his first tracks blending R&B sounds. It was in 2020 that he found his passion for hip hop and rap scene. His music, characterised by its emotive nature aims to give a voice to emotions that are unspoken. His journey really took shape in 2023 when he released his debut EP that feature the infamous song "OH NO." This further solidified his journey as one of South Africa's promising new talents. Furthermore with successes in the last years with the Qwellers that they have achieved as a group & as individuals, his success as a platinum award winning artist for his feature as a primary artist on Typhoon with Sjava. With which during this time he also released Took me For a Nai which was followed by a remix with Ma-E & Blxckie. This became the song which set the tone for his trailblazing influence in really assuring the solo foundation of his craft.
