Aodhan

Aodhan is an Australian indie outfit formed by Aidan Whitehall alongside Sara Todner, Joel Haskew, Kye Storey and Eli Steinhauer. The project began in 2019 as Aidan’s solo venture, releasing early material that blended bedroom indie pop with alt-folk. That same year, he won Triple J Unearthed’s Indigenous Initiative with When Your Eyes Speak, leading to partnerships with Communion Records and Anti-Fragile Records. Soon after, Aidan met Joel, Kye and former drummer Angus Kettley at a music camp, later bringing Sara into the fold to form the project’s live band ahead of Yours & Owls 2021. Aodhan went on to perform at Groovin the Moo, BIGSOUND, Lazy Mountain, Springtime and SXSW Sydney, and appeared on Triple J’s Like A Version, while Aidan also performed solo and duo shows supporting Josh Pyke, Vera Blue, Kim Churchill, and a headline UK run in 2022. Across the EPs Flies In My Room (2021) and Dwelling (2023), recorded with Ryan Miller in Sydney, the project refined a sound merging indie rock, pop and singer-songwriter influences. Following a period of change after Dwelling, Aodhan has since evolved into a full band with the addition of Eli Steinhauer, entering a new chapter with a renewed creative focus.
