Biography & Metadata

Jonah Blacksmith was formed by brothers Simon and Thomas Alstrup. The band name is a tribute to their grandfather Johannes Alstrup. Jonah Blacksmith released their debut album "Northern Trail" in April 2015, securing a large number of supporters. In 2017, the band's second album "Jonah Blacksmith" was released and In 2020 they followed up with the release of their critically acclaimed third album “Brothers”. Jonah Blacksmith experienced a major breakthrough in the years after where they cemented their position on the Danish music scene with several major radio hits such as House On Fire and Up that both reached #1. The band has over the past years also toured extensively, selling out major venues like the Royal Arena and Jyske Bank Boxen. In October 2025, the band released their fourth album, "Ages". In addition to Simon Alstrup (vocals, guitar) and Thomas Alstrup (bass and banjo), Jonah Blacksmith consists of Lasse Alstrup (keys, mandolin), Jon Bisgaard Kjeldsen (keys, banjo), Søren Poulsen (drums), Thor Kortegaard (drums) and Søren Bigum (guitar, pedal-steel)
