Casepeat (Kim Ki-Won) is widely regarded as a pivotal figure in South Korea’s trance scene, bridging the underground movement and academic artistry. An Adjunct Professor at Seoul Culture Arts University (SCAU) and Korea Representative for Trance Family Asia, he brings a distinctive blend of theory and emotion to electronic music. With his label Play It Forward Music, he co-hosts LION Superclub x PLAY IT FORWARD pres. Trancision and curates the biweekly club residency TRANCE4 SEOUL: The LUKA Sessions. His productions have gained global recognition through releases on leading labels, including Black Hole Recordings sub-labels Subculture, Nocturnal Knights, Regenerate, Magic Island, AVA, and Elpida, as well as High Voltage and Blue Dot Music. His music has received support on trance’s “Big 3” radio shows: Armin van Buuren ’s A State of Trance (ASOT), Aly & Fila ’s Future Sound of Egypt (FSOE), and Paul van Dyk ’s VONYC Sessions. In 2025 and 2026, he performed at EDC Korea, Mark Sherry ’s Outburst 10-Year Anniversary at ZEROTOKYO (Japan), and Amnesia Bangkok (Thailand), Reverse Rotterdam in The Netherlands, sharing stages with artists including Aly & Fila and Ferry Tayle. He also hosts the weekly live show Play It Forward LIVE. As film music director for the award-winning films God’s Daughter Dances and Peafowl, Casepeat brings cinematic orchestral elements into trance, shaping a signature sound that reflects his role as one of Korea’s leading trance ambassadors.
