PENELOPE

Hello gorgeous, I’m PENELOPE, it’s lovely to have you here! I was born and raised in the streets of Sydney’s West, I was the kid that was constantly singing and dancing and stealing my mum and dad’s CD collection. Sorry, not sorry. My obsession with music and singing started at the age of five, I wandered into the living room while my mum was watching the Barbra Streisand concert One Voice; I fell in love instantly! However, before I committed fully to music I spent six years giving everything a go. I tried swimming, diving, trampolining, basketball and netball, I even played on my twin brother’s soccer team for a season. As much fun as all of that was, nothing could top the feeling of singing and being on a stage and that’s where I’ve been ever since. On the personal side of things, I had always felt a little out of place but I wasn’t quite sure why. I called myself bi-curious but wasn’t in a place where I could explore my curiosities. Once my last relationship ended in 2019, that all changed. I had an incredible experience one night after I finished a show (listen to “Straight Until…” for all the T) and that was it, I officially came out as bisexual and have been waving our flag proudly ever since. The strength and resilience of the Bi-community and the queer community deeply inspire my songwriting but they also inspire me as a person, a goofy, clumsy, fun-loving chick who wants everyone to feel loved.
