Biography & Metadata
Originally an L.A. graffiti artist, Jose Rodriguez (Lethal One) began spinning acid techno on vinyl in 1996, introduced to the scene by his homeboy Ntense (Technostate). After a hiatus for health reasons, he returned in 2006 encouraged by Meanstreak (Audio Science), transitioning from DJ to producer with a gear-heavy analog studio featuring the Roland TB-303 and MV-8800. In the early 2010s, Lethal One partnered with Technostate co-founder Dennis Moore to host L.A. events featuring UK legends DDR and Sterling Moss. Following a 2013 UK gig and a pivotal meeting with Chris Liberator, he launched his label OFFICIAL in 2014. The label released the classic "Sylmar Acid Test," a collaboration with Dave The Drummer (Henry Cullen/Secret Hero). By 2026, Lethal One has performed at major UK festivals like Boomtown, Illusive, and the Stay Up Forever 30th Anniversary. His extensive discography includes releases on OFFICIAL, Planet Techno, Planet Acid Techno, SUF SuperLimited, Triple A, Stay Up Forever & Choci Chewns, VCF, AcidLab, and Interstate One. He has collaborated with legends Chris Liberator, Sterling Moss, DDR, Geezer, Choci, and Dave The Drummer.
