Biography & Metadata

The Bukas Palad Music Ministry composes, records, and performs original Filipino liturgical music. We were founded in 1986 by three high school friends, Fr. Manoling Francisco SJ, Norman Agatep and Jandi Arboleda, at the Ateneo de Manila University. We have produced over 20 albums and written songs like "I Will Sing Forever", "Tanging Yaman", "Sa'yo Lamang", and "Hindi Kita Malilimutan". Over the years, we have collaborated with artists like Lea Salonga, Regine Velasquez, Gary Valenciano, Basil Valdez, Jamie Rivera, Joey Albert, Cooky Chua, and Noel Cabangon who have recorded and popularized Bukas Palad songs — helping bring our music to the mainstream. It seems all this has happened almost by accident. But perhaps it seems that way because Bukas Palad has always been nurtured by the generosity of members, family, and friends. All this has been inspired and sustained by the grace of God, Whose love and generosity break all boundaries and confound all expectations, and Who shelters us always in the palm of His hand.
