Multi award-winning, chart-topping urban artist TY (Tyree Tautogia) has travelled a long and winding road since his early days making mixtapes in South Auckland with fellow Smashproof members Deach and Sid Diamond. Always honest and wearing his heart on his sleeve, TY has written 5 x NZ Top 20 NZ singles, the most well known of which is Smashproofs ‘Brother’ (that famous hook sung by Gin WIgmore). The track made New Zealand history, breaking a 23-year record by becoming the longest running #1 by any local artist on the NZ Top 40 Singles Chart - with 11 weeks at the top of the chart. Others Include 'Stuck In A Box' By Sid Diamond and Stan Walker and his own debut solo single 'Ladies and Gentlemen'. TY's amazingly broad talents have seen his solo music repertoire range from hood rap to love songs, through to soulful R&B and worship music. TY has also won the Best Male Artist award at the 2007 Australasian Urban Music Awards.
