Biography & Metadata

Fayetteville, Arkansas natives Brandon Adkins and Matt Johannesen bonded over grunge, rockabilly, and power pop bands like Nirvana, Ashtray Babyhead, Reverend Horton Heat, Green Day and more while in another band of their youth. After becoming seasoned performers they set out to become the humble punk masters of rock n roll in its purest form. They formed a two piece rock band dubbing themselves as The Plaid Jackets as a tongue-in-cheek nod to their vintage threads. Armed with Brandon’s tube fed power chords and raw gut vocals that have been compared to the sirens of old sailor myths, and the fierce, uncompromising animalistic style of Matt’s drumming The Plaid Jackets hit the Fayetteville scene with their first EP and soon became known as one of Fayetteville top bands. The guys started experimenting with novelty hits, like their international hit “Adam West is Batman” which is still a fan favorite to this day. This opened the door for The Plaid Jackets to tour and meet some of their musical heroes and celebrities. Performing at the Napa film festival for their part in the documentary “Starring Adam West”. After a much needed break The Plaid Jackets are back with new songs and ready to be on stage again. Now older and wiser men, Brandon and Matt agree that the current incarnation of The Plaid Jackets is the best yet.
