Minaxi

Minaxi is a Brooklyn alternative band of four friends and musicians–Steve Carlin (drums), Thomas Herndon (bass), Liam Christian (guitar, voice) and Shrenik Ganatra (guitar, voice). The band's sound is best described as a meeting point between two lives lived by an immigrant—the formative years in their home country and the time of youth, self-discovery, and friendship in a far-away land of opportunity. Specifically, this concept brings together Hindustani / Hindi music, Sufi mysticism, and psychedelic and shoegaze atmosphere for a visceral listening experience. It is the sound of free expression arising out of cultural diversity, openness to new ideas and approaches to practicing music, and genuine creative collaboration between friends. Minaxi’s discography includes Khwab (2020), sialia (2021), Lazuleen (2022), The Reverberating Sound of an Absent Metropolis (2024), Z of A (2025), From The Creamery (Live Album, 2026), Darbar-e-Ishq (2026), and several singles and EPs. True to their DIY ethos, Minaxi self-records their music and designs all visuals, led by Ganatra, a multidisciplinary artist.
