“Q THA HERO” —or whatever he’s calling himself these days—is just another self-proclaimed “alternative rapper” from Long Beach, California. Claims to be all about “authenticity,” but we’ve heard it all before. This kid started making “sounds” at 13, and now he’s running around the music scene like he’s some sort of “musical mastermind”. This guy claims it’s his “authenticity” that separates him from the rest, but that’s just marketing talk. According to Q THA HERO himself, “My music is me, and nobody else”—yeah, sure, kid, tell me more about how your feelings make you special! Now, here’s where it gets interesting: when he’s not making tracks that are “raw” and “unfiltered,” Q THA HERO’s got a thing for superheroes, movies, and pop culture. Who isn’t these days, right? But apparently, he thinks his music channels all of that into something new, as if he's the first one to combine comic book nerdiness with hip hop. Now living on the East Coast, far from the West Coast hustle, Q THA HERO still carries that Long Beach grit. Whether you buy into the “hero” act or not, one thing’s clear—this kid’s not afraid to stand out.
