Biography & Metadata

It’s difficult to find a duo that has defined Australian music as much as Hermitude. Across the last two decades, Hermitude – consisting of Elgusto and Luke Dubs, both from the Blue Mountains – have consistently kept evolution and experimentation at the forefront of their craft, paving new directions amongst the electronic, hip-hop and pop spaces that have kept them not just ahead of the curve, but defining the curve’s every move. Award-winning multi-instrumentalists, Hermitude have moved from strength to strength since meeting in their early teens. First signing to Elefant Traks in 2002, the pair have marked out a sonic footprint that is defined by their hip-hop roots and electronic soundscapes. Their 2012 album, Hyperparadise won the Australian Music Prize and would see its title track reach #38 on the ARIA Charts and its Flume remix hit speakers everywhere, with singles going Gold and double platinum. Their follow-up album, Dark Night Sweet Light debuted at #1 on the ARIA Charts, with single “The Buzz” firmly placing them on the world map. In 2026 they share their inspired new dancefloor sound via collaborations with Adrian Dzvuke, Devaura, IsGwan and Bob Vylan. It comes off the back of a clarified sense of purpose driven by their spectacular studio setting in the Blue Mountains, on Gundungurra and Dharug Country.
