Hannah Read

The Fungi Sessions Vol. 2 out now Hannah Read is an award-winning fiddle and guitar player, songwriter, singer and composer based in the Northwest of the US. She grew up in Scotland and regularly performs, records and tours across genres on both sides of the Atlantic. Hannah’s work as a soloist and bandleader has received critical acclaim — from Way Out I’ll Wander (Hudson Records), an album of “nine gorgeous originals” (The Guardian), to her Appalachian old-time duo Cross The Rolling Water with banjoist Michael Starkey. This led on to her most recently commissioned conceptual albums The Fungi Sessions Vol. 1 (2023) and the soon to be released The Fungi Sessions Vol. 2 coming April 2026.  As a collaborator Hannah weaves between musical worlds: touring internationally with Julien Baker (Boygenius) and recent collaborations with Big Thief, Lord Huron, Benjamin Lazar Davies, Mikaela Davies, TORRES, Tony Trischka, Mipso, Lucy Dacus, Lola Kirke, Karine Polwart, Rowan Rheingans, Jacksonport, The Fretless and Andy Monaghan (Frightened Rabbit). Recent live highlights have included playing on The Daily Show, at Newport Folk Festival, All Things Go Festival, The Merriweather Pavilion, London Jazz Festival and on BBC Scotland.
