Jordi Savall

Jordi Savall is one of the most influential musical figures of our time, renowned for his pioneering work in the rediscovery and performance of early music. For more than five decades, the Catalan viol player, conductor and researcher has brought forgotten musical heritage back to life, combining historical research, artistic excellence and a deeply humanistic vision of music. Founder of Hespèrion XXI, La Capella Reial de Catalunya and Le Concert des Nations, Savall has explored more than a thousand years of musical history, from the Middle Ages and Renaissance to the Baroque, Classical and Romantic repertoire. His projects also create a unique dialogue between Western traditions and the musical cultures of the Mediterranean and beyond. Through an extensive and internationally acclaimed discography on his label Alia Vox, as well as performances on the world’s leading stages, Savall continues to reveal music of the past with extraordinary vitality, while building bridges between cultures, generations and traditions.
