Biography & Metadata

Long live the Princess of Batavia. In a world of fleeting trends and noise, Kamila Batavia stands as a quiet force of poetry, mystery, and timeless grace. The independent Indonesian singer-songwriter and composer creates Baroque Galactic, blending old-world romanticism, cinematic melancholy, orchestral textures, and cosmic wonder. Writing in Indonesian, German, and English, she carries listeners into a world where memory, longing, and imagination intertwine. Her debut EP The Scent of Camellias (2025) opened the gates to this world through vintage piano, spectral strings, and intimate songwriting. Songs including Hilang dan Tak Kembali, Als Ich Einschlief, and Berakhir dan Berlalu became early glimpses into the evolving Kingdom of Batavia. In 2025, Kamila performed at the German Songwriting Awards in Berlin and took her music across Hamburg, Jakarta, Tangerang, and Köln. In 2026, Tayomi marked the beginning of a new chapter. Written for her late mother, the song sits at the heart of Baroque Galactic: music shaped by grief, memory, and the instinct to build something beautiful from what remains. That summer, Kamila brought Baroque Galactic to Kampnagel International Summer Festival in Hamburg with Hurled to the Moon, a multilingual performance combining her songs with storytelling, band, and strings. And as the Kingdom continues to grow, the Princess of Batavia remains at its heart—guarding the twilight kingdom where she forever reigns.
