Biography & Metadata

Psyché is a project with an eclectic sound rooted in the vibrant Neapolitan music scene. The band was formed in 2018 by Marcello Giannini (Guru, Bassolino, Nu Genea Live Band), Andrea De Fazio (Parbleu, The Funkin Machine, Fratelli Malibu, Nu Genea Live Band), and Paolo Petrella (Fratelli Malibu, Bassolino, Nu Genea Live Band). They were joined in 2024 by Roberto Porzio (Parbleu, Fitness Forever, 24 Grana, The Funkin Machine). A unique combination of psychedelia, groove and improvisation, the music of Psyché goes back to the roots of our future; it evokes visions of a mythical past, blending centuries-old music traditions and mixing them with modern genres. Like a warm Mediterranean breeze, it travels across lands, seas and eras, distilling essential rhythms and cosmic pulsations. Released in 2023, the debut album "Psyché" is a unique combination of psychedelia, groove, and improvisation. In 2026, Psyché return with a new album, "Psyché II", that reinvigorates and expands their singular blend of groove and psychedelia, pointing towards a vast array of Mediterranean influences spanning Southern Europe, the Balkans, Anatolia, and the Maghreb. The record gains further international and political weight through collaborations with Ziad Trabelsi on "Hurriya (We Must Resist)," an Anatolian-rock-style celebration of resilience and freedom with lyrics in Arabic, and MERVE (formerly of Altın Gün) on "Yallah!", built upon the exotic rhythm of a Middle Eastern-inspired dance.
