The NMC

The NMC is an Australian alternative rock project created, written, and produced by David Newman, based in Newcastle, Australia. Blending alt rock, pop rock, and hard rock, The NMC delivers hook-driven songs with emotional weight, sharp riffs, and anthemic choruses. Influenced by the rock sounds of Def Leppard, Shinedown, Foo Fighters, Linkin Park, Green Day, U2, and Bon Jovi, the project bridges classic rock sensibility with modern edge. Some songs trace their roots back to the 90s, while others are newly written, forming a diverse and evolving catalogue. Lyrically, The NMC explores mental health, resilience, identity, and social disconnection, often reflecting the pressures of modern life. Combining traditional songwriting with contemporary, AI-assisted production tools, The NMC continues to evolve while staying grounded in honest, high-impact rock storytelling. Outside the studio, Newman is also an avid football player, bringing the same drive and discipline into his music.
