Biography & Metadata

sorrycarlee, aka Carlee Chappell, could’ve been your therapist - literally. After spending her life doing everything “right” (straight A’s, extracurriculars, getting into a prestigious university, and studying both English and Psychology), she was set on a PhD in psychology. Because that was the most logical next step, right? And logic had always been the ruling voice in her head... But in a moment of uncharacteristic panic, she ignored her signature logic and listened to her heart. Her childhood “what if,” buried beneath glitter gel pens and posters of Hannah Montana, Taylor Swift, and Hilary Duff, resurfaced - she was a songwriter and artist at heart. Carlee found early success co-writing Maddie Zahm’s “You Might Not Like Her ” Francis Karel's “You're Too Close ,” and most recently Abigail Barlow ’s “Strike Out .” Now, as sorrycarlee, she is pursuing her ultimate what if, as she blends pop hooks with raw, introspective lyrics. Her music is an open diary, her visuals are a colorful and chaotic scrapbook, capturing moments of heartbreak and self-discovery, offering listeners a cathartic escape through confessional, upbeat girl-pop. The only thing she’s sorry about? Not pursuing it sooner.
