Biography & Metadata

May Blue is Australia's forefront altruistic Contemporary Jazz artist, with a groundbreaking vision for the genre & an even more groundbreaking vision for women & children survivors of domestic violence. Musically, May Blue works closely under the mentorship of Ken Lewis, the producer engineer co-credited with the development and debut albums of Lana Del Rey & Lorde, & the Midnights & lover albums of Taylor Swift. Her vision is to bring Jazz to a primarily Pop-leaning younger audience, with well researched & informed social justice messages woven throughout. She achieves this by carefully weaving Jazz with a number of other genres to create a sound that is definitively Jazz, yet uniquely hers. The autistic artist is a survivor of domestic violence. In a recent interview, May Blue said, "I always wanted to work in music - but I found it hard to justify for a long time... until I read a study revealing how the biggest driver of change to reduce the rates of domestic violence is cultural change, & the biggest driver of cultural change are those working in the arts. Everything really clicked into place for me then"
