Fear State

FEAR STATE is a band with influences from 80's Hair Bands, Nu Metal and Early 2000's Rock, Fear State creates a sound that is nostalgic and familiar. Honest lyrics, gritty vocals, blistering high-gain guitar, and a steady, thumping rhythm section highlighted by an absolute High Energy live show that leaves the crowd wanting more. The band formed in Fayetteville, NC where B-Man ( Bass & Co-Founder of the longtime local favorites The Fifth) formed the band in the Winter of 2022 with drummer Ryder Beard, Guitarist Ian Jackson, Chris "Smitty" Smith on Vocals and Tyler Christ on Lead Guitar. After building a Fast following in their first year and a half. Smitty left the band to move on to another chapter in his life and Tyler left because of other career obligations. After they left the band, singer Josh Nation joined followed by guitarist Jamil Lawson. The band quickly enjoyed local success and started to build a following when they started, but with the New Line up FEAR STATE has taken it up to another level on the NC music scene. They blend covers with their originals and the audience feeds off their live show. They've continued to write and add more original songs to their catalogue. They will be dropping more music here on Spotify and to other music streaming sites in 2026. Stay tuned and JOIN THE FRENZY! We’re Not just a Band, We’re Family!
