Biography & Metadata

With the King Doudou Project, French Dj & Producer Hugo Douster shares his love for all the groundbreaking new styles of music emerging from the modern world. In his Dj Sets, he takes us from one continent to another looking for the common tie between Latino-American Dembow, Ivorian Coupé Décalé, Jersey Club or Baile Funk. He has played everywhere around the world from big festivals like Dour or Sonar to small south american and asian clubs, his 2 Boiler Room apearance showcase the frenzy that is a King Doudou set. Wether he's composing an emotional rap beat for platinum selling French band PNL , a fresh dancehall riddim for Catalan Dancehall queen Bad Gyal, or a dirty perreo banger for reggaeton superstar J Balvin , King Doudou ties link between the mainstream and the underground, Europe and 1merica , the old school and the avant-guarde . Equally at ease with young artists like Mauritian prodigy Greg as with super-producers like Skrillex or Diplo, his productions have traveled all across Europe and the Latino-American world . Awarded a Latin Grammy in 2020 for his work on J Balvin's album "Colores," in 2023, he contributes to the soundtrack of the film "FastX" in collaboration with South American stars Ludmila and Duki.
