elbowsway

Formed in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, in 2024, elbowsway is an alternative band established to explore heavy, atmospheric genres within the city's local underground. The band's sound is built on the dense "walls of sound" typical of modern shoegaze, blending that melodic haze with the raw emotional delivery of emo and post-hardcore. Their music moves between ethereal textures and heavier, rhythmic weight, drawing occasional influence from nu metal, post-metal and atmospheric black metal bands. Following the release of two singles in late 2025 and early 2026, the band debuted a five-track EP common sense in April 2026. The record examines themes of social isolation and disillusionment, utilizing a DIY production style that emphasizes sonic immersion. By establishing a presence in a region not traditionally associated with these genres, the band focuses on expanding the local alternative scene through consistent output and collaborative efforts.
