Biography & Metadata
Jae Markwick is a Dutch-Australian singer-songwriter who began his career in 2019. After 3 years of steady artistic growth, he gained his first major industry recognition in 2022, signing with NBNX, Selected Society Group (under Sony / The Orchard). That same year, he released his biggest hit to date, “twenty one,” alongside fan-favourite tracks “burn” and “dark blue.” Building on this momentum, Markwick followed up with “gabbie hanna” and “mirror,” with the former emerging as another minor hit and further solidifying his place in Australia’s emerging pop landscape. After fulfilling his initial contract, Markwick signed with Utah-based record label Tekkit Records and relocated to Sydney to work on his debut album, what’s next for us? The project became a fan favourite, praised for its honesty and emotional maturity. Following the album’s release, Markwick requested an 18-month hiatus to step away from the spotlight, live life, and make use of the financial freedom his success had afforded him. During his absence, Tekkit Records released “chastity” and “japanese cars,” both of which went on to become fan favourites and sustained interest in his catalog. Markwick is set to return in 2026. His career highlights include airplay across multiple radio stations, surpassing one million total streams, festival performances, collaborations with some of Adelaide’s largest artists, blogs, and brand partnerships with Spirit Airlines and Rare & Co Clothing.
