Amanda Barise

Amanda Barise is an Alt-R&B and jazz artist, vocalist, songwriter, and arranger whose music bridges the freedom of jazz improvisation with the intimacy of soul and contemporary R&B. A powerhouse vocalist and instinctive improviser, Barise builds her sound around live musicianship, rich harmony, vocal arranging, and a voice equally at home in restraint as it is in virtuosity. A Top 14 finalist on Season 23 of American Idol, Barise became known for transforming songs through her own musical language. That instinct has followed her far beyond television with her original single “fall for you” having surpassed 1.1 million streams on Spotify. Her post-Idol releases, including the autobiographical three track EP Cute & Deadly, “I Can’t Help It,” and “Calm The Storm,” reveal an artist moving deeper into her own world: alternative R&B colored by jazz harmony, live instrumentation, improvisation, and soul. Barise has performed and recorded alongside artists including PJ Morton, Joe, Salt-N-Pepa, Jules Grant, Melt, TimaLikesMusic, Button Masher, The 8-Bit Big Band, Lionel Richie, Telemakus, Pool Cosby, Third Reprise, whatever mike, Cole Davis, etc. She is also the creator of a top charting Soul Vox sample pack for Splice and a recipient of The New School’s Alice & John Coltrane Award of Excellence.
