It doesn’t get any happier from here. Jodie Nicholson creates powerfully intimate, achingly human music. Alongside inspirations of Daughter, Lucy Rose, Warpaint, TEED and HÆLOS, Nicholson combines introspective lyricism, brooding piano, subtle electronics, delicate guitars and weighty drum grooves to carve her own sonic identity. With walls of tightly-knit harmonies (in what she likes to call ‘vocal landscaping’), Nicholson’s reed-like vocals remain the compelling constant to an ever-evolving sound. Brought up on the likes of Pink Floyd, Marillion and Tori Amos, soaring melodies, powerful lyricism and intuitive song structures formed the basis of Jodie’s journey into songwriting. Nicholson's self-produced, self-released works have picked up over 40 national radio plays across flagship BBC stations, not to mention two syncs on ITV's Love Island. Praised for her captivating live performances, Nicholson has shared stages with Luke Sital-Singh, Siv Jakobsen, The Howl & The Hum, Emeli Sandé, Nerina Pallot, Tom Rosenthal, Bertie Newman and many more at shows across the UK. “An incredibly interesting artist… she’s not your average singer-songwriter” – Jess Iszatt (BBC Radio 1) “Don’t think of Safe Hands as an indie folk or alt-pop album; think of it as a human record” – Atwood "Nicholson wraps intimate vocals and retrospective lyricism around cinematic, prog-inspired indie folk/electro pop" - The Line of Best Fit www.jodienicholsonmusic.com
