SEATBELTS

A superband led by music producer Yoko Kanno —a lyricist, composer, and arranger—that occasionally invades Earth. Best known for performing "Tank!" from the anime Cowboy Bebop, they have reportedly been active since the late 19th century, though actual eyewitnesses are exceedingly rare due to their elusive nature. The band’s name stems from the fact that, despite being hardcore session musicians, they strictly wear seatbelts for safety when traveling in spaceships. Although the roster usually features prominent Japanese musicians, the lineup remains fluid—and even includes a dog. Their next performance is scheduled for the 22nd century.
