Biography & Metadata

Iraqi-Australian artist Motez defies the typical club producer label, fusing classical piano flair with 90s influences to create rich, emotive electronic music. With an ARIA Platinum single & official remixes for Disclosure, Sam Smith, Flume, and Ellie Goulding, his music has featured on Apple Music, BBC Radio 1 and Triple J. He’s released on respected labels like Hot Meal, Armada, Future Classic & Club Madhouse. His EP ReSet became a breakout moment, with the title track hitting Triple J’s most-played list & ranking among Australia’s top 20 most Shazamed songs. In 2023, he unveiled Coalesce—a bold audiovisual EP created with visual artist Dave Court—blending ambient, techno, and industrial textures. Its lead single Make Way (feat. Elsy Wameyo) was added to Triple J rotation and earned a spot in RAGE’s Top 50 Videos of the Year. Motez also showcased his live show prowess with a standout performance at WOMADelaide’s 30th anniversary. The show featured orchestral musicians, a children’s choir & guest vocalists accompanied by a stunning light show that drew national acclaim. The performance was broadcast across Australia on Triple J’s Live at the Wireless. Beyond the club and stage, Motez composes for film and creates soundtracks for art installations such as PASSAGE at Adelaide Botanic Garden and BREATHE at the Museum of Discovery. He also curated the University of Adelaide’s 150th anniversary music program—headlined by Genesis Owusu and Yard Act—to a sold-out audience.
