Mr Slimister

Slimister is a rapper, singer, actor, and performer whose journey reflects both struggle and transformation. Raised in the heart of the squat party and rave scene, he was exposed to drug misuse and street life from a young age. Despite early attempts by his grandmother to steer him towards the arts, including connections to the Sylvia Young Drama School and appearances in theatre and extras work the pull of early gang culture temporarily derailed his path. In 2014, with the help of the National Lottery, Slimister turned his life around and began pursuing music seriously. A major turning point came in 2016 during a trip to Amsterdam, where an encounter with Black the Ripper and Iron Barz led to a powerful co-sign from UK rap legend Skinnyman, who encouraged him to fully embrace a career in rap. Inspired by artists like Mobb Deep, Jadakiss, and Skinnyman, Slimister fuses raw hip-hop with grime and melodic elements, using music as a vehicle to explore issues such as drug use, mental health, and survival. He’s a proud member of GFE/BMF and 1.4 M.O.D Underground Music Group in New Cross, and he launched a cannabis movement in 2015 as part of his commitment to advocacy and change. With deep roots in performance and storytelling, Slimister brings a unique mix of lived experience and creative passion and he’s just getting started. Stay tuned.
