Rooted in indie hiphop, rapper/producer/singer, J57, got his start working at the legendary Fat Beats (NY) record store from 2004 until it closed in 2010. Mentored by DJ Premier since 2011, his background ranges from traditional boom-bap hiphop, electronic, jazz, and Americana music. J57’s very prolific with over 1,500 registered songs on ASCAP and has collaborated with the likes of Snoop Dogg, Wu-Tang Clan, DJ Premier, Rich the Kid, Action Bronson, Joey Bada$$, Harry Fraud, Lil B, Westside Gunn & many more. A few years ago, J57 decided to stop focusing on the groups he was in and to go all-in on his solo music for the first time in his 25+ year career as a musician. He invested every last cent he had into these solo projects, and fully bet on himself, with the goal of creating meaningful music that people can use as a form of escapism or as the soundtrack for their good days as well. Music designed to have a positive impact on society. Genre-bending, aiming for a high quality experience for the listener.
