Shashi Preetam

I’m Shashi Preetam — a composer, singer, songwriter and filmmaker from Hyderabad, India. My journey with music began with Telugu cinema, where my debut film Gulabi became a defining musical experience for me and for many listeners. Over the years, I went on to create music for films including Samudram, College, Bachelors and others, besides composing thousands of songs, jingles and musical pieces across different forms. Music has always been more than a profession for me. It has been a way of observing people, relationships, emotions and the world around me. Today, I am returning to music with the same curiosity, but from a very different place in life. I am exploring music as an independent artist, bringing together everything I have learnt through cinema, storytelling and years of listening, creating and experimenting. “Yaanam — Miles of Music” is the beginning of this new chapter. It is a personal musical journey through new songs, memories, experiences and sounds — connecting the music I have created over the years with the music I want to create today.
