Originally on a career path towards social work, Olive Klug harnesses their gifts for singing and storytelling as a means to accomplish lifelong goals of inspiring emotional catharsis and social change in their audiences. Influenced by artists from Joni Mitchell to Kimya Dawson, Olive’s unfiltered vulnerability is at the forefront of every song. However, Olive takes fun very seriously, often placing said vulnerable lyrics on a backdrop of country-pop earworms that make audiences everywhere burst into arm-swinging jigs. Whether they’re grieving via theatrical piano ballad or discussing the complexities of gender identity to an upbeat banjo romp, Olive’s music conveys this sense of very outwardly figuring things out, which is what gives the songs such a sense of communion. They're letting you in on the fact that they're going through it too, and they don't shy away from discussing the awkwardness.
