Sara Parkman

Sara Parkman is a folk musician known to both question and embrace traditions in such an unabashed and simultaneously thoughtful way, that one could say that she has created her own musical universe - and that by doing so, she has become the great poster name of contemporary Swedish folk music. Thanks to her three acclaimed solo albums, it is to be expected since some time that one can hear her music pulsate from foggy depths of nordic forests during nocturnal rave parties - and equally expected to see her perform live in popular TV programs. When her latest album "Eros Agape Philia" was released in October 2022, it was met with overwhelming reviews. Nöjesguiden handed out its highest rating and wrote: "It's popular, mysterious, powerful and modern." Gaffa wrote: "A much-needed counterweight to those who believe that folk music belongs in a local museum." The album became Sara Parkman's breakthrough and was at the top of DN's album chart for no less than five weeks. Over the years, Sara Parkman has been awarded several times at Folk och Världsmusikgalan, a Swedish gala for folk and world music. She has also been awarded Dagens Nyheter's Culture Prize, 'Live act of the year' at Manifestgalan and a Swedish Grammy. In addition to the album success, Sara Parkman has had several completely sold-out tours and also hosted the TV-show Jill's Veranda in Nashville.
