Biography & Metadata
Esther was born into a family where music was furniture, sound was always just there. She studied percussion. Vibraphone, specifically, falling for it’s unique charcateristics. A demo found its way to Jesper Kouthoofd at Teenage Engineering, and suddenly she was on a festival stage in Copenhagen, closing out a show alongside Pontus Winnberg and Justin Vernon with nothing but her vibraphone. She debuted as a solo artist in 2019. Stages shared with Kite, Deportees, Amason, Miike Snow, The Tallest Man on Earth, all while nurturing a growing body of work built in close collaboration with some of Stockholm’s most distinctive producers. A collective of people began forming around Esther, a group of likeminded musicians who kept returning to the same room because something special kept happening there. Fragmentality is the result of that something special. Out June 5th 2026 via Skolhaus, the title reflects the fractal nature of the album, and by extension Esther’s own mind. Each song is a slice of a specific feeling, a dispatch from a different perspective. A fragment of a mentality. Plural, incomplete, flowing and overlapping each other, the way emotions really are. Some songs on Fragmentality have been carried for years. Others arrived in a single week last spring. All the wrong turns and broken mirrors forming a fractal self-portrait of a contradictory, brave, and effortlessly talented artist. Esther’s debut album Fragmentality is out June 5th 2026 on Skolhaus.
