Oliver Pashley

Oliver Pashley is a UK-based musician. Described as a ‘mercurial monarch of the clarinet’ (The Times), he is a founding member of The Hermes Experiment and holds the position of Sub-Principal Clarinet in Britten Sinfonia. Renowned for his versatility across many styles and genres, Oliver’s playing has featured on high-profile releases, from albums that have won Presto Classical’s Recording of the Year (Geysir/Gran Partita and Here We Are), to BAFTA-winning TV soundtracks (Roadkill (Original Television Soundtrack) , BBC). Through his work with Britten Sinfonia and The Hermes Experiment he has collaborated with musicians and artists including Steve Reich, Thomas Adès, Shiva Feshareki, Mark Simpson, Nicholas Daniel , Ayanna Witter-Johnson, Sebastião Selgado, and Gerhardt Richter. Oliver’s own music explores themes of love, loss, intimacy and loneliness, and his arrangements have been performed at venues including Wigmore Hall, Kings Place, and on BBC Radio 3.
