love you, please die

/ EDGY ECCENTRIC ELECTROPOP / pop music is dead. the popstars killed it. now, it’s up to the weirdos, the outcasts, the oddballs, the freaks to bring it back. a take that is as sentimental as crude, as glistening as hazy, as sophisticated as trashy, the music a template for romanticizing nocturnal nostalgia, apocalyptic adolescence, scenes from a movie where the protagonist dies. mournful and resentful words hidden under deceptively upbeat drum machines, thumping basslines, memorable synths, and earnest vocals. love you, please die is the duality of what makes us human and monsters in the same breath. imagine a cozy horror movie date night: everything's perfect, you're having a good time, but the tension is always lurking around the corner. that's the vibe. are you in?
