Born Akivah Cohen, “Keef”, grew up In New Jersey for most of his child hood. Born into an interracial modern orthodox Jewish family home and Growing up surrounded by ethnic tunes, cultural traditions, ceremonial hymns, cantors in the family and mixed with personal family traditions- help mold the artist that is, Waters Gilmour. Also known as Usual Suspect, Keef has managed to form a unique, unheard, catchy and intellectual style. From his word play- to his introspective story telling, Keef manages to string together ideas and melodies to create a style only he can pull off. In his early career Keef began with typical freestyle cyphers-surrounded by close friends. Eventually, garnishing enough attention locally to put on small events and attend shows in surrounding states to get a foot in the door of the industry. In the years 2012-2016 he would go on to release mixtapes n singles. Within a few years of attempting the role as an artist, he decided to start a label. He began to take engineering music seriously and at the age of 16 he began to self teach himself ProTools. He credits many of his early friendships in the music industry that led to him eventually work as an engineer.
