Biography & Metadata

Across years of touring, recording, and evolving together, The Bankes Brothers have built a reputation for emotionally charged songwriting, soaring melodies, and the kind of chemistry that can only come from lifelong friendship and brotherhood. Fronted by brothers Nelson and Morgan Bankes, the Canadian band is entering its biggest chapter yet with a new wave of music that marks a major artistic evolution. Recorded with acclaimed producer Gus van Go ( The Beaches, Metric, Arkells), their forthcoming album, For the sake of my love I hope I make it, set for release on February 10, 2027, represents a significant step forward — not because they set out to make a particular kind of record, but because they gave themselves the freedom to follow each song wherever it wanted to go. That sense of freedom is at the heart of the album. The Bankes Brothers have always been a band built on connection — between brothers, between friends, and between the people onstage and those listening. For the sake of my love, captures a band becoming more comfortable with who they are, embracing the uncertainty that comes with growing up, and choosing to make the music they believe in regardless of what anyone else thinks. Now, after years of building toward this moment, The Bankes Brothers are no longer emerging — they’re arriving with the clarity, confidence, and conviction of a band that knows exactly who they are.
