Agalloch

Agalloch officially formed in 1996 in Portland, Oregon. The following year the band released their debut demo From Which of This Oak, followed by Promo 98. On the strength of these demos, the band was signed by The End Records which led to the release of three full-length albums — Pale Folklore (1999), The Mantle (2002), and Ashes Against the Grain (2006). The latter two of these have since been inducted into Decibel Magazine’s Hall Of Fame. Agalloch’s next two albums, Marrow of the Spirit (2010) and The Serpent & The Sphere (2014) were jointly released by Profound Lore in North America, and Eisenwald Records in Europe. The band also managed to record a series of EPs — Of Stone, Wind, & Pillor (2001), The Grey EP (2004), The White EP (2008), Faustian Echoes (2012) all of which explored unique aspects of the band’s diverse sound. In 2016 the band broke up, but reformed in 2023 to great acclaim and have been playing festivals and headlining shows since. Now entering their 30th year anniversary, Agalloch continue to define the sound of epic Pacific Northwest metal.
