Akili

Akili is a griot who weaves the realities of existence into a vibrant blend of Afro-R&B with Calypso vibes. Drawing from a life spanning New York, Panama, and Trinidad and Tobago, his music translates profound concepts of freedom while fostering sacred connections between the world's indigenous peoples. Inspired by the bravery of Harriet Tubman and Queen Nanny, and a dedicated student of Derrick Bell and Frantz Fanon, Akili moves as a reincarnation of ancestral spirits guided by àṣẹ. As a writer, singer, and producer, Akili crafts magical arrows of righteousness in our ancestral quiver of truth and justice, breathing consciousness and joy into every stage.
