Ullrson

I’m excited to introduce "Viking Techno," a groundbreaking sub-genre that harmoniously integrates the musical instruments and styles inherent to Old Norse and Viking cultures with contemporary techno music. It’s the perfect backdrop for the "Techno Viking," merging historical and contemporary music. I’m Ullrson, aka Nick Bowman—DJ, Producer, and Radio Host. Inspired by Ullr, the Norse god of archery, oaths, duels and skiing. I come from Norwich, East Anglia, a land rich in pagan history. The name honours the region’s storied past, from the Wuffingas “Kin of the Wolf” with links to the epic poem Beowulf, the "Great Heathen Army" and Danish Viking rule to Queen Boudicca’s resistance against Roman oppression. For 16 years, I’ve hosted "The Future Underground Show," featuring global techno talents. I’ve played at venues like Ministry of Sound, Pacha London, Egg, and Crucifix Lane, and performed in Colombia, Germany, and Italy. In 2009, I won the "Raw Talent Competition" hosted by International DJ Magazine (IDJ). My award-winning mix received critical acclaim from industry giants such as Jody Wisternoff, Riva Starr, and Deepgroove. Follow my playlists here: This is Ullrson - My Viking Techno tracks.
