Bumbly the NYC subway singer and now Top 20 finalist on American Idol Season 2 ‘19. Born in Washington Heights NYC “La Abejita” was raised by a single mother from the Dominican Republic her father from Puerto Rico. Born on Halloween 91’ She got her start singing as early as infancy making bird like sounds. She couldn’t read or speak English when first entering school and so she loved picture books because she would give them her own story. This little talent helped her create new songs with poetic metaphors in the future. She loved dance and musical theater and attended Laguardia Community College for Theater. In college her philosophy classes really helped her to find her spirit animal, the bumble bee. It was an animal which she found was as divine and creative as herself. Inspired by the bee’s matriarchy Bumbly started writing music that empowers women. Her favorite part about singing in the subway is being able to turn everyone’s day into a magical one. She sings her original songs with her ukulele playing with musical influences such as Latin Pop, RnB, Reggae, Jazz. Since Idol Bumbly has been producing original music. She’s been able to collaborate with a few artists including Raquel Trinidad Top 20 finalist from American Idol and The Voice on a song called “Let That Mango”. Bumbly has created a beautiful collection of stories of romance, heart ache, self love, and women’s empowerment. To ensure they always remember what they deserve and not be afraid to fight for it.
