Biography & Metadata

Built in Belgium from rigid rhythms, synthetic pressure and distorted electronics, Implant developed into one of the country’s defining electro-industrial acts. Throughout an extensive catalogue, the project has continuously moved between mechanical force, dark melody, experimentation and physical electronic sound. The Implant network expanded through collaborations with Front 242 and Anne Clark, alongside remixes for Suicide Commando, Ministry, Angelspit, Apoptygma Berzerk, Nitzer Ebb and many others. At the centre of the system stands Len Lemeire, controlling vocals, electronics and production. On stage, he is joined by Pieter Coussement of Llumen, whose live visuals extend the transmission beyond sound. Together, they transform the Implant catalogue into an integrated audio-visual experience: mechanical, confrontational and permanently in motion. In 2026, thirty years after the first Implant release, the system returns to its original circuitry. The new fourteen-track album, The Kinematics of Doubt, reconnects Implant with the fundamental pulse of EBM: direct sequences, physical rhythms and machine-driven repetition. Rather than reconstructing the past, the album feeds those foundations through contemporary production, newer genres and unfamiliar sonic elements. Doubt is not presented as paralysis, but as motion: a force that shifts perception, destabilizes fixed structures and keeps both machines and bodies moving. DID YOU HAVE YOUR IMPLANT TODAY?
