Biography & Metadata

Somewhere between crushing distortion and the infinite unknown, Sidewave makes music that feels as massive as the things it reaches for. Born in 2013, Sidewave emerged from a shared obsession with the heavier, more atmospheric edges of alternative rock. Swirling vocals, cliffs of fuzz-drenched guitars, and a thunderous rhythm section define a sound that’s simultaneously hard-hitting and ethereal, balancing sheer sonic weight with melodies that linger long after the noise fades. The debut album, Glass Giant (2015), established Sidewave’s signature wall of sound, followed by Ultraviolet (2019), which pushed further into lush textures and expansive arrangements. Across both releases, Sidewave carved out its own space between alternative rock, shoegaze, and space rock, drawing on the spirit of the genre’s underground pioneers without being confined by their conventions. The third album, Dispel (2026), takes that exploration to new extremes. Crushing riffs collide with soaring melodies, intricate arrangements unfold into vast atmospheres, and moments of uneasy stillness give way to overwhelming intensity. Beneath it all lies a fascination with the unknowable: the tension between being grounded in ordinary existence and reaching toward something far beyond it. Music for the space between gravity and transcendence.
