Walker Burroughs

Walker Burroughs makes music steeped in a choice of joy and hope; a choice also found in works by artists like John Denver and J.R.R. Tolkien, who are among Walker’s greatest inspirations. The songs he writes are comprised of folky, wooden sounds, and they tell stories of life and love through a grounded connection to the natural world. If much of today’s live and recorded music is a machine-chiseled marble statue, cut with mathematical perfection to be stared at from behind a rope, then Walker’s music is an old tree. It took a while to grow, and it isn’t perfect. But it’s not trying to be.
